St. Paul loves PotLuck dinners and so does the Fireside Club members.
Here they are enjoying food and friendship at the Fireside Club Annual July Picnic.
THE FIRESIDE CLUB
The Fireside Club was organized in February 1939 and met in a room with a fireplace, therefore the name Fireside Club. The room and the fireplace are long gone but the Fireside Club has survived for 65 years. Several years ago, the bylaws were changed to allow all adult members of St. Paul Church to join, regardless of marital status.
For many years the club has been, and continues to be active in the life of the church. Its purpose is to provide its members with a means to develop friendships and spiritual growth, while supporting the mission of St. Paul Church. Over the years, the Fireside Club has provided financial support to many UCC agencies such as the Hoyleton Children's Home, DuBois Center, Emmaus Homes. St. Paul activities such as DuBois camperships, Share baskets, Fine Arts Fund, Franklin Neighborhood Summer Camp, and the Food Pantry have also received financial support.
Anyone interested in joining the Fireside Club, please call the church office.
