BeFriender Ministry
How to request a BeFriender Call Pastor Kuether, 618-628-0646. You can request a BeFriender for yourself or for someone else.
What a BeFriender is BeFrienders are trained and supervised lay volunteers. They are commissioned on behalf of St. Paul United Church of Christ to provide pastoral care.
Who BeFrienders serve BeFrienders serve anyone in our church community experiencing grief, loss, transition, or other concerns. In other words, they serve you and me.
What BeFrienders do BeFrienders provide a listening presence. They are caring companions who will listen respectfully and non-judgmentally. BeFrienders are not counselors and do not give advice or solve problems.
The importance of confidentiality What is discussed between a BeFriender and the person befriended is confidential.
