Council Responsibilities

A. Coordinate activities of the Church.
B. Exercise leadership, assume responsibilities, and conduct the business of the Church between meetings of the Congregation.
C. Coordinate and plan for the future needs and directions of the Church in order to serve faithfully the Congregation, the community, and the world; and to recommend such needs and/or goals to the Congregation.
D. Approve and maintain a policy manual to guide Officers, Boards, Committees, Staff and Members in the functions of St. Paul Church. The Manual is to be reviewed annually by the Council and is to include (but is not limited to) policies for worship, personnel, finance, property, and the number of members and duties of each Board. All policies are to be within the guidelines and authority established by these Bylaws.
E. Elect a slate of officers from Council members to be submitted to the Congregation for approval at the Election and Budget Meeting for service during the one year period commencing on the first Sunday in January following January 1st.
F. Present an annual budget for approval by the Congregation at the Budget and Election Meeting.

 

Duties

A. Monitor income and expenses of the Church in accordance with the approved budget.
B. Assign tasks to Church Boards or combinations of Boards.
C. Appoint committees for special assignments.
D. Report to the Congregation at the Election and Budget Meeting, the Annual Meeting, and special congregational meetings.
E. Appoint delegates to conferences, to installation and ordination councils, and other inter-church bodies.
F. Establish funds when necessary for special purposes with the approval of the Congregation.
G. Keep a complete and accurate record of Council proceedings.
H. Act as custodian of all congregational records.

We have two Sunday worship services, 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Adult Sunday School classes are between services
Sunday School for Pre-Kindergarten through 7th grade follows Children's Time in 1045 Worship
Visit Heritage Hall for fellowship, coffee and donuts. 
Church service broadcast Sunday on KSTL - 690 AM at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
