OldChurch.jpg Ever since St. Paul occupied the old church building, now known as Heritage Hall, the congregation has been active in many community projects. This is a continuation of the Evangelical ethos. The Germans from the Evangelical Church of the Union came to this region and brought with them a deep commitment to the Gospel and a will to serve our neighbor. The development of Memorial Hospital in Belleville was a consequence of efforts by Pastor Koehler, the St. Paul congregation and the predecessor of the Illinois South Conference of the United Church of Christ. The St. Paul congregation is still actively engaged in projects to uplift the people in the Belleville community.

The Neighborhood Picnic on September 23, 2007 was a real success. It is sponsored by the Franklin Neighborhood Community Association on the St. Paul church grounds using volunteers from the St. Paul congregation. View the Neighborhood Picnic slide show.
