Meet our Staff

Sue Hoffmann

Mother's Day Out Director

I am excited to lead the Mother’s Day Out Program for 2021-2022. I am a retired educator who has always loved children and the joy they bring to families. The MDO program has served hundreds of children since its inception 40 years ago. We have an excellent teaching staff excited to help each child develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
After receiving an Associate Degree from Southwestern Illinois College, I attended SIUE, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, and a Specialist Degree in Education Administration. The majority of my career was spent at High Mount School as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. I retired in 2007 and spent the next twelve years as an adjunct professor at McKendree University. I also served as a trainer and educational consultant through the St. Clair County Regional Office of Education during this same time.

I am married to Dave Hoffmann. I have two sons, Sean and Jeff Jewett, and two bonus children, Matt Hoffmann (Stacey) and Deanna Haas. I also have three granddaughters.

St. Paul Church has been a part of my life since attending Sunday School in the third grade. I currently serve on the personnel team and have previously served on other groups as well as working with the mission team. I am looking forward to working with the children and parents of our Mother’s Day Out Program.

Amy Le Grand: 3-year-old lead teacher T/W/Th

I have been a teacher at St. Paul’s MDO since 2010. I have taught all age levels, but mostly the three-year-olds. Before I taught at MDO, I was a stay-at-home mom of two wonderful kids. Both of my kids came through the MDO program, which is how I fell in love with it and eventually started teaching here. Through the years, I have worked at a daycare, have worked in the kid's gym at the YMCA, and have been involved in many kid ministries at church. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. It’s so fun being an MDO teacher and getting to see the kids learn and play together.

Laura Osborn: 4-year-old lead teacher T/W/Th

I am married to my wonderful husband Jason and have two children, Jordan and Asher.  Both of my children have been a part of our Mother’s Day Out program and have loved their time here.   I attended Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English.  I have worked at other preschools and before/after school programs,  and I currently serve as the Preschool Director at my home church.   I have also served as a substitute teacher and parent helper at MDO before becoming a teacher.  I have a solid musical background,  and when I am not working here, I enjoy helping lead some of the praise and worship music at my church.  I try to incorporate music into my classroom lessons whenever possible!   I am thrilled to be a part of the staff here at Mother’s Day Out. The staff and parents here make this such an enjoyable environment to be in.   I love teaching our little ones and look forward to watching them grow during each school year.  Three-year-olds have such a strong desire to learn and explore, and  I am so grateful I get to be a part of that fun and excitement!

Deneshia Brock: 4-year-old co-teacher T/W/Th

I was blessed to find such an amazing program that my kids and I love. I am married to my husband, Bryant. We have three children (Nalani, Bj, and Malaya). Two of which are currently going through the program. I worked as a Permanent Helper in the three-year-old class for the 2020-2021 school year. I was the teacher for the two-year-old class. In the Fall of 2021, I will be teaching in the four-year-old class. I have worked in a daycare facility in the Belleville area, and I am currently working towards my degree in Early Childhood Education at Southwestern Illinois College. I love being at MDO; watching the kids learn, watching them grow, and having an influence on their days/lives is so rewarding. I love being creative, hanging with my family & shopping in my free time.

Nicole McCullough: 4-year-old lead teacher T/W/Th

I fell in love with the MDO program in 2008 when my eldest son was a student. Having a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and being a teacher myself, I had high expectations for a preschool program. MDO did not disappoint! Two more of my children have gone through the program since then, and another will start as soon as she turns two. I taught 1st grade for several years until I decided to stay at home full-time. In 2012, I was offered a position in the 4’s classroom at MDO and taught for three years until I had my fourth and final baby. I took a year off to stay at home and am so thrilled to be back teaching the 4’s once again. One of my favorite quotes from C.S. Lewis states, “Children are NOT a distraction from more important work. They are THE MOST important work.”

Lindsey Davis: 4-year-old co-teacher T/W/Th

I have been involved with the Mother’s Day Out program for several years. I have two children who came through the program, and during that time, I worked in the classrooms as a permanent helper and a substitute teacher. I am so excited about joining the staff at Mother’s Day Out. I can’t wait to work with all the children and aid in their educational development during this crucial Pre-K year. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for more than ten years, and we have two beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, bike riding, and all things outdoors in my spare time.
